SharePoint 2013 – CRM – This content cannot be displayed in a frame

SP2013

Hello everyone,

Today I’ll talk about a problem that may occur when you use SharePoint as “Document location” for CRM entities.

If you do not configure anything, you will receive the error message « This content cannot be displayed in a frame » in your CRM.

To use SharePoint as a document location, you need to install the “crmlistcomponent.wsp” on your SharePoint and configure the location in CRM.

Link to download the component: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5283

Link to a blog explaining the installation:http://crmscape.blogspot.com/2010/09/ms-crm-2011-sharepoint-list-component.html

However, it is possible that despite this configuration, you still get the error message. One possible reason is that you have a column of type “Managed Metadata” in the default view of your list. Indeed CRM does not seem to manage the display of this type of column correctly.

Try to delete the columns of this type of the default view and it should work correctly.

Hope this helps

Christopher.

The parent content type specified by content type identifier 0x0101 does not exist

SP2013

Hello everyone,

Today I’ll talk about a problem that may occur when you develop content types.

It may happens that when you deploy your development, you come across an error like « the parent content type specified by content type identifier 0x0101 does not exist ».

This error can occur if you commented some of your code in the xml file containing the definition of your content type.

I still do not understand the relationship between the error and the error message but hey … The beauty of SharePoint development!

Hope this helps!

Read error on file when saving list as template

SP2013

Hello everyone,

Today I’ll talk about a problem that may occur when you try to create a list template.

It may happen that you have this error message

Read error on file _catalogs/lt/yourtemplatename.stp

This error occurs if you have exceeded the number of allowed lookup for list views (default 8)

To save your template list, you can change the value of the threshold in the central administration:

  • Go to the Central Administration
  • Select your web application
  • In the “General settings” menu click on “Resource Throttling” and increase the “List View Lookup Threshold” field

Hope this helps

Assembly not updated when working with Windows PowerShell ISE

SP2013

Hello everyone,

Today I will talk about a problem I encountered when using PowerShell. I was testing events handlers by making updates via PowerShell when I realized that the corrections that I brought to my code weren’t updated!

Example, I did a test on the contents of a field, I changed it in the source code, deployed my update but when I attacked with my script, it was always the first version of the code that was returned!

In fact I realized that using my script via Windows PowerShell ISE does not take my updated source code while I don’t restart the ISE application!

Maybe it keeps a cached copy?

Hope this helps !

Christopher.
