SharePoint 2013 : Creating development environment

Hello everyone,

Today I‘ll suggest two useful links for creating a SharePoint 2013 development environment.

The first is a link to an article from Code Project specifying the steps to install a development environment: http://www.codeproject.com/Articles/490811/SharePoint-2013-Setting-Up-A-Clean-And-Recoverable

The second describes how to optimize the environment to have less deceleration on our dev machines: http://www.spdeveloper.co.in/sharepoint2013/optimizing-the-configuration-of-development-farm.aspx

EDIT : If you have some trouble when installing SQL (by trouble I mean that it doesn’t passed the installation of .NET 3.5) use this process :

  1. Insert your Windows Server disk
  2. Use the Powershell command : Install-WindowsFeature –name NET-Framework-Core –source D:\sources\sxs (where D is you cd drive)

SharePoint 2013 : Deprecated Features.

Hello everyone,

Today, I suggest a very interesting link, namely the list of SharePoint 2010 features that are deprecated in SharePoint 2013.

As a reminder, a deprecated function is a function that still exists but may be removed in the next version of SharePoint.

You can find the list here: Changes from SharePoint 2010 to SharePoint 2013
